Global1sim: Customers into Shareholders

An equity crowdfunding round on Fundit for Global1sim, the Israeli telecom company that was the first in Israel to fully adopt eSIM. As the company's CMO, I led the marketing of the raise: the investor story and deck, the recruitment film and social videos, a countdown campaign across social and display, PR, and the investor community after the round closed.

The challenge

Global1sim has been selling roaming solutions since 2005 to travelers, businesses and resellers in Israel and abroad. It was the first company in Israel to fully adopt eSIM, the virtual SIM that lets a phone switch networks and countries with a QR code.

To fund its next stage, a BI system, a mobile app and deeper partnerships with travel companies, the company went to the public with an equity crowdfunding round on Fundit, with a target of 4₪ million and a fixed closing date.

That meant persuading thousands of ordinary people, most of whom had never heard the word eSIM, to buy shares in a small telecom company.

The story: there is no such thing as abroad anymore

We built the round on one simple idea: with eSIM, your phone is global. No more swapping SIM cards, no more expensive roaming packages, one line that works in 180+ countries.

The investor deck told that story in a few clear steps: the problem every traveler knows, the technology that solves it, a global footprint of 13 countries where the company is a local operator, real revenue growth and a market that was just starting to open in Israel. The same story ran through the Fundit page, the films and every ad.

Social & PR

The campaign film at the top of this page carried the raise: what eSIM is, why it changes travel and why now is the time to join. Next to it: the TV coverage the raise earned on Channel 13 and Channel 12, on the eSIM revolution and how several lines can live on one SIM, and the short vertical videos we produced for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts, such as "Remember the physical SIM?" and "3 things to check before investing in a crowdfunding company".

The countdown

A crowdfunding round lives on momentum, so every milestone became content. 1.5₪ million, 2₪ million, 3₪ million, the first 100 new investors, ten days left with a 2% share bonus, a free extra line as a gift for investors, and a live Zoom Q&A with the founders.

Each update went out the same day as stories, posts and WhatsApp messages, so the people still deciding could see others joining in real time.

Display and social

The paid campaign drove traffic to the Fundit page with display banners, wide social formats and news-led ads that tied the raise to the headlines of the day, such as reports that the next iPhone would drop the physical SIM tray.

On the ground

Roll-ups for investor events and conferences and branded shirts for the team kept the same purple identity offline.

After the raise: an investor community

The round closed successfully in June 2022 and the investors officially became shareholders. The work did not stop there. We built an investor community with regular newsletters, personal emails and WhatsApp updates, and Zoom and live investor conferences where the management reported on progress, new partnerships and results.

My role

I served as Global1sim's CMO. I built the narrative and the investor deck, led the scripts and production of the recruitment film and the social videos, planned and ran the media, managed PR including the Channel 13 and Channel 12 items, worked with the copywriter on the Fundit page and content, and set up and ran the investor community after the raise.
